Many business owners and website designers alike lose hours of sleep worrying about how their website should look and function. Although this is obviously vital to how well the website will perform it is worth bearing in mind that a website design can be changed quite quickly (depending on what the changes are). Unlike print of brochures for example, where if there is a typo or image that is not quite correct, you may be stuck with it for months or even years, this is simply not the case with web design.

Ideally you should have a look at the competitions website’s and other sites that you like (even if they are in a different industry) so when you meet with your designer you have some sort of idea as to what you want. A good web designer should be able to take a detailed brief from you and understand what the website needs to accomplish and then go away and come up with a few different designs.
