Having photos taken of your children
They say never work with children or animals, and I must admit I have a lot of respect for photographers that work with children. Getting a child to sit still and smile can be almost impossible at times.
The trick is to distract the child and make them laugh, as if you try and get them to be quiet you will have no luck. Children often get nervous around new people so having a friendly face there when the photos are being taken it always a good idea.
Try and not worry too much about getting a perfect shot as often it is better when it is more natural. Another great ideas that I have seen children’s photographers do is to blow bubbles. This can help the children relax and even if there are a few bubbles in the picture, it can add to the effect. This tends to work best for babies who cannot move but to get them to look up and smile.
